Katrina is a knowledgeable and friendly therapist with over 9 years in practice. She offers reflexology for wellbeing, relaxation and specialises in fertility, pregnancy, birth and the postal period. She is passionate about wellbeing and is a friendly, approachable therapist.

Katrina graduated from University with a degree in complementary therapies. Katrina studied international healing systems, psychology and anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology. She has since completed a number of other courses (details below).

Katrina enjoys living in Edinburgh and spending time with friends and family. When not in the clinic she will be looking up new nutritious recipes, cooking, reading, researching, writing, photography, swimming, traveling or visiting art galleries and archives.

Complementary Therapies BSc Degree  

Katrina graduated University with a degree in Complementary Therapies; Reflexology. This three year course involved in depth training in all aspects of reflexology theory and practice, including Western and Eastern reflexology, human anatomy and physiology and healthcare systems. Katrina decided to study reflexology at University to gain the highest qualification to be able to offer clients the best service.


Diploma in Pre-conception, Pregnancy & Postnatal Reflexology

In 2011 Katrina received a Diploma in Pre-conception, Pregnancy & Postnatal Reflexology from the London School of Reflexology. This included information about fertility, pregnancy and the postnatal period and specific zone theory and meridian point reflexology techniques for fertility, pregnancy and postal care.


Maternity Reflexology Certificates (Midwife Lead)

Katrina also holds a certificate of attendance for both Part One and Part Two of renowned reflexologist Suzanne Enzer's Sole to Sole maternity reflexlogy courses. This midwife lead course covered maternity reflexology techniques, preconception care and pregnancy care, labour, birth and post natal care.


Diploma in Holistic Fertility Diploma (Distinction)

This course covered holistic ways to improve fertility naturally including nutrition and supplementation, detox programme, lifestyle factors effecting fertility (diet, exercise, weight, smoking, alcohol), identifying and avoiding environmental and product toxins, stress and relaxation management for infertility (relaxation techniques and visualisation) and charting the menstrual cycle. Also the reproductive system (anatomy and physiology), low fertility and its causes, orthodox and natural approaches and treatmenting infertility.


Certificate of Competence to Teach Natural Family Planning (NFP)

Katrina is a qualified NFP teacher, trained by the NFP Teachers Association. She is qualifed to teach observation and charting of the body's nautral signs of fertility and infertility within each cycle. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recognises the use of NFP: "Those wanting to achieve pregnancy use NFP to identify the fertile phase and hence maximize the probability of pregnancy.” WHO (1988)


Diploma in Stress Consultancy (Distinction)

Covering both theoretical knowledge of and practical techniques to reduce stress and induce relaxation, for physical and mental health. Understanding the mind, physical and mental effects and symptoms of stress and anxiety and understanding relaxation and its benefits. Techniques and methods for reducing stress, which include; breathing control and techniques, best positions for relaxation, meditation and visualisation, use of yoga, massage and lifestyle changes for stress reduction and relaxation.


Diploma in Nutrition (High Merit)

What we do and do not eat has a major impact on our health. Katrina holds a diploma in nutrition covering essential nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals), intake of water, healthy eating (including whole food, organics), Dietary interventions for disorders, systems of the body, metabolism, allergies and intolerances, eating disorders and weight issues, types of diets and effects of junk food, caffeine, sugar, stimulants and e-numbers on the body.


Certificate in Nutrition for Fertility, Pregnancy and Lactation (Distinction)

Principles of a healthy diet including sources and suggested intake of essential nutrients and water, as well as specific nutritional recommendations for assisting fertility, pregnancy and lactation, including the effects of certain foods (eg. sugar) and environmental chemicals on fertility and how to reduce exposure.


Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology (ITEC)

In 2006 Katrina gained an ITEC diploma in Anatomy and Physiology. This involved studying the anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the musculoskeletal system, circulatory system, nervous system, respiratory system, lympathic system, digestive system, reproductive system and the urinary system.
